Scouting America Historic Trails Program

The Historic Trails Award is a program that encourages Scouts to explore America’s rich history by hiking trails that follow the footsteps of historical figures, events, and movements that shaped our nation.

The program recognizes Scouts who complete hikes on designated historically significant trails. These trails commemorate events ranging from Revolutionary War routes and Civil War battlefields to pioneer migration paths, Native American heritage sites, and local community history.
